Matt Simpson is a husband and father of two, a marketing strategist, business alignment expert, and a designer of things and experiences.

I grew up in the historic small town of Fort Scott, Kansas. As a teenager, I began designing logos and brochures for local companies and staffed an office in the historic downtown district for two years. While in college, I operated and co-founded the area’s first business service center (think Kinko’s in the early 90′s). I studied print management and earned my undergraduate degree with a minor in business administration (I still love the smell of fresh ink on paper).

I worked in various marketing and creative roles over the next several years, including a two-year stint as video and media coordinator for the education company that partnered to become LEGO Education. I managed a mid-sized commercial printing company in Kansas City in the late 90′s, and later spent a year working as the director of communications for a faith-based non-profit.

I live in a suburb of Kansas City with my wife, Spring, and our two children.

I build furniture, enjoy photography, and love modern design. If I wasn’t doing this, I’d go back to school and study architectural design. I am an Apple fanatic and have been since the days of the Apple II.

I read Harvard Business Review, Fast Company, Inc, Metropolis, and Dwell cover-to-cover each month.

I speak to, write for, and consult with organizations helping them to align their strategies, platforms, and experiences via Infusion. I work primarily with mission-driven organizations and for-benefit enterprises, and I have consulted with more than 100 organizations individually since 2002.

I own Infusion Creative, a design firm that specializes in implementation and expression work (websites, identity, collateral, campaigns) for strategy clients of Infusion.

Professional Summary

I have held various leadership and consultative positions throughout my two-decades of professional work.

I have served in numerous roles with mission-driven and for-benefit enterprises as a board member, adviser to senior leadership, and in other management and leadership positions.

I have owned a marketing company for 10 years, co-founded two printing companies, and worked with over 500 clients, designing or consulting on more than 350 individual brands. My clients have ranged from the Fortune 100 to Main Street start-ups that operate in nearly every state, as well as internationally.

My work as a creative has been published in trade magazines, newspapers, and online. I have designed and directed numerous campaigns and publications for a national audience including books, educational curriculum, fundraising, social media, radio advertising, marketing, loyalty, and brand launches.
